Today we wanted to take a little bit of time to talk about how to take care of your vehicle wrap to help give it a longer life, by answering some of our regularly asked questions.
With regular cleaning and maintenance, you’ll have a longer-lasting, and more vibrant looking wrap. You should always avoid to use cleaning products that have heavy a chemicals concentration and pollutants, especially if they are meant to remove adhesive materials.
How often should I wash my vehicle wrap?
You should also wash your vehicle as often as it is exposed to a lot of dirt or pollutants. We recommend 3M or other name brand car wash soap.
Can I take my vehicle through a drive through car wash?
Yes, but we don’t recommend it. Drive through car washes have a tendency to be extremely harsh on your vehicle, and can actually tear or cause peeling, or even tear your wrap. We recommend you hand wash with a sponge or very soft brush.
What should I use for spot cleaning?
Use Simple Green or isopropyl rubbing alcohol to spot clean isolated stains. Rinse area with cool water after cleaning. Don’t use tire dressing to spot clean as it may splash on the wrap and cause stains. Avoid wiping the wrap when it’s hot; this can distort the material and cause wrinkling.
What products should I avoid when cleaning my wrap?
Never, EVER use any of the following cleaning products on your wrap:
- Oil based cleaners
- Kitchen & Bathroom Cleaners
- Oven cleaner
- Orange Oil
- Engine Degreaser
